The Problem With Music Critics: A Response
It took precisely ONE minute for Will Hodgkinson to respond to the previous Tumblr post I emailed to him this morning.
Dear Eve
I love good pop. The Rihanna album sounded like it was phoned in. The lyrics are about nothing. There’s little passion in the delivery. It’s a perfectly adequate, unremarkable album.
Best, Will
I guess he’s used to angry people. Perhaps this is an automated response, it certainly fired off like one. “I love good rock. The Coldplay album sounded like it was phoned in. The lyrics are about nothing. Yada yada yada yada…”
My response, for what it’s worth…
Dear Will
Thanks for responding and thanks for taking the time to read.
Last time I held the line to Orange they played Olly Murs’ Please Don’t Let Me Go. I’m not sure if it was a bad stab at irony but had they played Rihanna I would’ve stayed in the queue.
Cheers, E
